As good as it gets

So this is as good as it gets for now. Matt "told" me how to do it but hasn't been home yet to "show" me :) If you click on it though you can see it bigger. Yay for Pages!

Oh YEAH!

So I'm not going to lie... I'm pretty proud of myself. I've spent the last day and a half hunkered down in my jammies working on Cash's baby announcement. Imagine the whole frankenstein scenario with the crazy scientist hair sticking out in every direction. Yes... that was me. I just discovered this new (well, not really new but new to me) program on our Mac called "Pages." Oh my gosh! Pages is to me what coloring is to a kindergartner. I could do it all day long! It shows that I'm still not exactly computer proficient though because I've tried to put it up on my blog but to no avail. I need my Matt for technological feats such as that. We'll see if I can get him to help me put it on the blog later. But until then three cheers for Pages!

Just Hangin' With the boy

So we just love our little punkin (if you haven't surmised that yet) :) He's been sleeping through the night so well lately. He goes down at 9 (lately with no crying) and doesn't wake up until 6 ish. What a lovey! Being his mommy is the best!!! We just have a few pictures of him hanging with mommy and daddy. We take pictures now for no good reason but I just can't help myself!

Cash's first smiles!!!

What a day! I know it seems so silly  but to have your baby give you a real "non-gas" smile is like winning the lottery! I have never been so excited to see a smile as I was today. This morning Matt and I were laying on our bed with Cash in between us and he was more alert than he's ever been. When Matt and I would  take turns talking to him he would change directions to look at us and we both got a toothless, gum filled grin! I was rocking him this afternoon and we were enjoying "Green Eggs and Ham" when he did it again. The one I got on my phone isn't as big but you get the idea.

Covert Operation: "Meet the Baby"

So this morning we completed a very illegal yet very satisfying 007 mission. Tyler left on his mission about 3 1/2 weeks before Cash was born. He became a first-time uncle while in the MTC. So we thought that it would be worth breaking the rules to let Cash meet his uncle.

Ty is doing so well. It was so good to see him. He's very upbeat and happy and can't wait to get out into the field. He's also sporting a very handsome part! :)

We gave him 2 dozen Krispy Kremes which he snuck back into the MTC under his jacket. I'm wondering what the janitors are going to make of those boxes in the garbage can?

We love you Elder Ty!

One month old!

So I forgot that it was Cash's one month birthday until just now. I took some pictures because he changes so fast! He's getting chubby and so big! Time is flying! I figured I'd take a sec and write down some of my favorite things about him.

Things I love...

1. His bitter beer face he makes when you try to give him a different kind of pacifier.
2. When he scrunches his forehead but can't quite open his eyes when you try to wake him up.
3. His little squeak.
4. The way he loves to be wrapped up like a little jumping bean.
5. How he HAS TO have his hands by his face at all times.
6. How he has started to make eye contact (just this week!)
7. His wild little hose that decides to spray whenever his diaper isn't on. (despite all the extra laundry this causes it still makes me laugh!) He got himself in the face once and was completely startled :) He looked at me like "Mom, why did you do that?!"
8. How he recognizes our voices and will turn towards us when we talk to him no matter who is holding him.

I love my little punkin!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace!!!

So, this blog doesn't come with a picture because it happened while we were asleep last night. Yes, you heard me right ASLEEP! Our little lovey had the best night of his life. It all started when he went to sleep without ANY crying whatsoever. I put him down and said goodnight and talked to him for a minute and then he fell asleep on his own. I thought we were lucky then. But when he slept until this morning at 5 I was more than thrilled. It's hard to understand unless you've experienced chronic sleep deprivation but 7 1/2 hours of continuous sleep is something that needs to be celebrated! So YAY for a good night's sleep!
