I found the link to the second half of the game. It's supposed to be on ESPN next week. They lost, :( bummer, but second in the nation isn't so shabby! Ty is number 8.

Bruiser Boy

So Tyler, my little brother who isn't very little at all, is the subject of this post. I think he weighs in at 240lbs and is 6'3. Anyway... I'm so proud of him that I just had to tell everyone bout him. He just graduated high school but missed his graduation to go to the rugby nationals in Pennsylvania. He is one tough cookie. He shaved a mohawk for the event and came home with black eyes, scabs, and stitches in his head. They took 2nd in the nation though. The cool thing is that there were some coaches from STANFORD that were there and are now looking at him. He's a smarty pants who scored in the 30's on his ACT and has a 4.0 GPA so he'd probably do well there. I don't know if I could handle him being that far away though. He's my buddy! Always the life of the party. GO TY!!!

Kati's Graduation

So its all about the graduations lately and this weekend we flew up to Lind, Washington for Kati's graduation. Kati (Matt's niece) has always been Matt's baby and, no matter how old she gets, she always will be. Kati is a few years younger than Matt and has been more like his little sister than his niece. They have grown up really close so it was such a fun thing to come to her graduation. Kati lives in a town of 500 people and there were 18 kids in her graduating class. Her senior video was so fun to watch because the kids have a bunch of pictures from their childhood all together. What a unique and fun thing! Happy Graduation Katlin!

Time to back-blog

So I figured that I have a ton of catching up to do. We've had such an eventful life these days. Where to start?!

1. Amber graduated from school in April and is looking forward to getting her NCLEX passed. Not necessarily the "taking it" part.
2. We are also expecting our first baby. YAY! Matt swears by looking at the ultrasound that its a boy that looks just like him! I'm 10 weeks along tomorrow and we had our first official appointment yesterday. The baby was doing a jig for us when the Dr. did the ultrasound. I think that means we're going to have a baby that loves the attention!

Update on Matt's parents

LeRoy is going to be released from the hospital today. He has done so well with his physical therapy and he has met all of the milestones (early) that he needed to be released. He was much faster than the doctors expected. They say he'll be on crutches for six months so he suspects this will be early retirement for him.

Sharon is also improving at a really fast rate. She is amazing all of us and her doctors. They didn't expect her to regain consciousness for another few weeks but she has already woken (2 days ago) and is doing well. She knows all of us and remembers the day of the accident sometimes. She also thinks that Debbie took her to the hospital (she was life-flighted). So the time around the accident is a little foggy but she gets better every day. LeRoy goes up to see her as much as he can and its amazing to witness the love that they have for each other. There wasn't a dry eye in the room when she first saw him after she woke up.

So I guess this is very officially our first post. YAY for beginner blogging! Except for this first blog isn't the most happy. We've realized over this past weekend how quickly life can change and leave you struggling to recover in the process. Matt's mom and dad were in a motorcycle accident down in southern Utah this last weekend his mom was life-flighted up to Utah Valley Hospital and his dad was brought in an ambulance. His mom is in the ICU trying to recover from a collapsed lung, multiple rib fractures, lower spinal fractures, a concussion, a broken pelvis, a broken clavicle, a lost kidney, and a few other more minor injuries. His dad is in the IMC with a severely broken leg (that they put a rod in) and multiple rib fractures. Everyone has been so great and supportive through the ordeal. Thank you! They have a lot of people who really love them.

Situations like this make you realize what you have and just how important family is. How lucky are we that families are forever!? This picture reminds me of happier days. I can't wait until we're there again!
